ABOUT MEY

Mey is a bulgarian origin , soul and jazz singer , who at presents lives in France . She plays the piano since the age of six and at the age of fifteen she starts playing saxophone and clarinet. She graduates from the pop and jazz vocal department of the National Music School of Bulgaria and the National Academy of Music. Soon after , her professional vocal career starts and at present Mey has more than 4 albums and 20 singles released. In 2011 the singer becomes one of the 12th finalists of the show “X Factor” (Bulgaria) . Meanwhile ,Magi records an album with the american drummer Poogie Bell (Erykah Badu, Chaka Khan, Prince, David Bowie, Marcus Miller, Bobby Sparks etc) .

In 2012 the video single “I call it smile” is released (music: Poogie Bell/Brett Williams/Mey). The same year MEY produces the Project "THE MUSIC INSIDE" with her band - Mey and the band and year of 2013 she records the vocals of the album "Suga Top" with Poogie Bell Band. "Suga Top" is performed in many clubs in Europe with Poogie Bell (Blue Note Milano, Jazz at Pizza Express London, Jazz of Cernocise Festival, Blue Note Poznan etc). The same year a video release of the single “Break my heart” is presented , together with the very talented actor Aleksander Sano. MEY warmed up for Blackstreet (2013), Jessie J (2013), Ryan Leslie (2013), Jamiroquai (2014), Touch and Go (2014) , Truth Hurts (2016), Eric Legnini and Krystel Warren (2018), Kenny Garrett (2019).

In 2014 the bulgarian singer records the single "Freaky" released with the bulgarian drummer and dj - Mr. Moon. The following years Magi Aleksieva decides to move to South of France. This is how she meets the musician Thomas Cordogli -very talented and well-known bass player in France ( Frank Mccomb, Andy Narell, Bobby Johnson, Yoann Serra, Jean -Yves Candela etc.) . Together , they create the band Mey Feat Jcat ( Jean -Charles Battistella - keyboards and Alexandre Gauthier - drums) . The following years 2015, 2016, 2017 the band performs many concerts around Europe ,rearranging the music of MEY and later on - the album "JOY" . 2015 is as well the year of "Would You Be Mine" Video - single release. New arrangement of the famous bulgarian song " Pustinna Zemia" is as well produced with a video - the first 360 degrees virtual reality musical video in Bulgaria (2016) .

During 2017 “So Much Joy” video - Single is released and a few months after, the Album "JOY" recorded together with Poogie Bell - drums and Bobby Sparks - keyboards.

In 2018 MEY releases the album "Love and Receive" with the band MEY feat. JCAT. During this time a few studio sessions are happening as well- “Love and Receive”, “Springtime” ,“Little Birds” . In 2019 , together with the dj Mr Moon , the singer released the electronic jazzy EP "Timelapse" and the singles "Let It Rain", "Shiver", "The night will follow".

2021 is the year of the album "Lost&Found" (2021) , recorded with Miroslav Turiyski - keyboards (Theodosii Spassov, Miroslava Katsarova, Cesar Sampson, Teodora Enache etc. ) and Kristian Jelev - drums (Vladimir Karparov , Gueorgui Kornazov , Angel Zaberski, Dimitar Liolev etc.)

At the moment, MEY prepares a new video-animation song , composed by Thomas Cordogli.
